Best eSIM for Europe
One regional plan covers up to 42 countries — but on a short trip to one or two of them, buying local plans is usually cheaper. The crossover lands at about 3 countries.
This is the question every Europe guide skips: not which regional plan, but whether you should buy one at all. Below is the same comparison our planner runs, using real plan prices and real validity windows.

Before you buy a regional plan
- Check your countries are actually in it. "Europe" means different things to different providers, coverage here ranges across the plans above.
- Unlimited still throttles. Airalo's unlimited plans are widely reported to slow past roughly 3GB/day; Holafly's carrier fair-use sits around 3–5GB.
- Hotspot is capped separately. Holafly limits tethering to 1GB/day even on unlimited plans, disqualifying if you're working off a laptop.
- One plan, one activation. The real argument for regional isn't always price. It's not managing four eSIMs while changing trains.
