Holafly review, the parts they don't advertise
On the 1 destination where we can compare Holafly directly, it is cheapest on none, Ubigi undercuts it most often.
Unlimited-only. Priced per day rather than per gigabyte. Good for short stays where you refuse to think about data.
What to know before you buy
- Hotspot capped at 1GB/day. Hotspot is explicitly capped at 1GB/day even on "unlimited" plans. If you plan to work off a laptop, this is disqualifying at any price, and it is the single most expensive mistake people make in this category.
- Unlimited throttles at roughly 4GB/day. Carrier fair-use reported around 3–5GB/day before throttling. (reported, not published by Holafly.)
- No phone number. No local phone number — data only. Rules out SMS-based verification codes.
- Unlimited only. On a long trip with light use you will pay for headroom you never touch.
None of this is secret, and none of it is on their buy page. We surface it because we don't sell Holafly plans, the planner will actively rank Holafly down when one of these disqualifies it for your trip.
Where Holafly actually wins
On our current dataset, Holafly is not the cheapest option on any of the 1 destinations we can compare head to head. That does not make it a bad product, coverage, activation experience and network quality all matter, and none of those show up in a price table, but on price alone, something else wins every time.
Read that number carefully. 1 destination is a thin sample, too thin to call a verdict. Most of our destinations currently carry a single provider, so there is simply nobody to compare against. Broadening that is the top priority on our own list.
